Automatic air vents

Automatic air vents allow air to escape during the priming of piping systems, pumps, filling of closed tanks, receivers and air entrainment separators. This mechanical style float air vent trap is designed to remove high volumes of air from liquids under pressure up to 250 PSIG.

Air, steam and other gases can pass from the inlet at the bottom through the open valve at the top until the body fills with liquid, causing the stainless steel float to rise and close the valve. All of the internal components are made of non-magnetic 18-8 stainless steel and connected to the trap cover for easy inspection. The trap bodies are cast from iron, steel or stainless steel depending upon the compatibility requirements.

Applications for high capacity venting include venting air from dry cleaning solvent filters, air separation tanks and air trapped in high points of supply lines and receiving tanks.
