Gas/Liquid Separators Brand History
Our cyclonic separators are fabricated by two manufacturers, one
located within the USA and the other in Reynosa
Mexico.
The basis for our product offering are the Wright-Austin™
gas liquid separator, exhaust heads and float drain trap designs.
Wright-Austin was established in 1894 and pioneered the cyclone
separator design. Hayward Filtration acquired Wright-Austin in 1996.
After the acquisition by Hayward, the Wright-Austin facility
in Michigan was closed and manufacturing operations transferred to New
Jersey. Some key personnel from Wright-Austin did not
want to make the move to New Jersey and instead decided to remain in
Michigan and form another separator manufacturing company called
Circle-S.
In 2005 Eaton Hydraulics LLC (Filtration Division)
acquired Hayward Filtration and the Wright-Austin product line. After Eaton's acquisition of Hayward, they decided to
maintain corporate headquarters with design and engineering in New
Jersey, but transferred manufacturing to Mexico. Although Eaton has
fabrication capabilities within the USA and other countries, most of the
Wright-Austin products are manufactured in Mexico with the
castings for their iron products originating from foundries in China.
Circle-S
has one manufacturing location in Monroe Michigan and you will notice
that their drawings and datasheets are often identical to the
Eaton/Wright-Austin datasheets because they both utilize the same
"original" Wright-Austin design.
